Several NGO’s of Corfu came together with members of the local community to replant, trees in the small square of Lemonia, which had previously been ripped out in the name of (commercial) ‘development’. In an over consuming society, were the superficial over rides the substance of human interaction and public space is claimed by commercial hot spots it becomes our duty to stand up against such attitudes and actions so we can reclaim our communal and free spaces. We would like to re-find the communication that has been lost in this consumer society, and empower the citizens who believe in such actions.
Cross boarders youth exchange

Participation and support proposal for cross-border exchange of youths of the Dutch Digg’Out organization called “Swop”. The SWOP organized youth exchanges and provided social activities and programs, in order to learn, accept and consider different views and cultural diversity.
The first exchange took place in the summer of 2009, with the exchange of 20 young people, between Greece (Corfu) and Holland, with the theme ‘Graffiti = Art 2009’ .This theme was chosen in order to gain a better understanding of the art form of graffiti in Europe and the attempt to transform the negative image which is attached to this art form.
Participation in a youth exchange program with members and friends of the organization traveling to Italy and participating in activities related to the awareness of ecological and environmental matters.
